CWDC Approved Competitions

Please note : Only Competitions listed on this CWDC web site will qualify competitors for the CWDC Europeans in February 2010. In order to qualify all competitors must dance in a least 2 qualifying competitions.

Important changes to Primary Division

Information for those who danced in Primary Novice and Primary Divisions prior to the 1st May 2009

With the introduction of the new CWDC rules which come into force 1st May 2009, the PRIMARY division no longer exists in its own right and has been split into:

• PRIMARY NEWCOMER
• PRIMARY NOVICE (Division 4)

Those who were in the Primary Novice division (prior to the 1st May 2009) can now either go into the Primary Newcomer division, or if they wish may stay in Primary Novice. ALL existing dancers who were in the Primary division (prior to the 1st May 2009) now go into Primary Novice (div 4).

Rules

Before entering any competition be sure your have read and understand the 2009 Rules (Updated 5th June). Please be aware we have made some changes to costume which must be observed by all dancers.

2010 Competitions

January 24th 2010 Worcestershire Open This is a CWDC Event qualifying for the 16th European Dance Championships. Rocklands Social Club, Birchfield Road, Headless Cross Redditch Contact: Richard Williams 07832 218448 All dances at this competition will be the same as those published for the Europeans 2010. RESCHEDULED TO January 30th 2010 Irish Open This is a CWDC Event qualifying for the 16th European Dance Championships. The Millbrook Lodge Ballynahinch BT24 8LS Contact: Bernie Lenaghan 07815 823789 All dances at this competition will be the same as those published for the Europeans 2010 with the following exceptions: All newcomer dances will be "Wanna Have Fun". February 6th 2010 Doric Cup This is a CWDC Event qualifying for the 16th European Dance Championships.
